May 2010 - Bankstown

This page is dedicated to giving updates on the progress of students in Course 163, which started in Bankstown in late May 2010.  This page will track key achievements such as first solos, flight tests, theory and fly-aways.  Also, key dates for the class are included at the bottom of the page.

Update - October 2010

The class continues to progress ahead of schedule, completing the second and third CPL subjects (Human Factors and AGK) during the month of October.

Again, there were fantastic results across the class,

Muhammad flew the most this month, with 17 hours flown.

Update - September 2010

The course has been progressing extremely well, and the class sat their first CASA CPL exam a week ahead of schedule.

Congratulations to everybody that passed the CASA CPL Meteorology exam; Elroy, Christine, Miller, Varun and Stalin who received the highest score of 93%!

Also, everybody passed the Private Pilot Licence theory exam, and many students are preparing for their PPL flight tests.

David flew the most this month with 17 hours flown.

Update - August 2010

Congratulations to David, Miller and Stalin for passing their GFPT flight test.  Navigation training will be next, and all of you will get endorssed in the Cessna 172s or Warriors over the next week.

Don't forget the PPL exam is scheduled for early September.  Good luck!

It was a very windy month in August, so everybody's flying hours were down.  However Stalin still logged 18 hours in the month, with a lot of that being solo.  Just about everybody is on track to finish the course on time by the 4th March 2011.  Students need to have flown 48 hours by now.  Stalin has logged 58 hours, Elroy 63 hours, Miller 61 hours, Varun 55 hours and David 49 hours.

Update - July 2010

Congratulations to Muhammad and Stalin for both going First Solo this month. 

Again there was a 100% pass rate in getting through the BAK exam this month.  Congratulations to everybody.

Miller flew the most this month, with 22 hours of flying, 9 of which were solo.

Update - June 2010

Congratulations on the 100% pass rate for both Pre-Solo Exam and Pre-Area Solo Exam this month.  David scorred the highest mark in the class for the Pre-Solo Exam, and Adrian scored the highest mark for the Pre-Area Solo Exam.  The BAK exam is early next month, so students should ensure the complete all the practice questions in the text book.

Also, congratulations to David, Elroy, Miller and Varun for all going First Solo this month.  All of you achieved this milestone swiftly, which will set you well for the rest of the course.

Elroy flew the most this month, clocking up 27 hours in 30 days!

Update - May 2010

Welcome to all the new students who started on the 17th May 2010.  Your course co-ordinator is Ryan Bodily, and he should be your first reference point for any queiries.  Pre-Flight briefs have been booked in each weekday morning from 8am.  You will have a scheduled flight every day (weather permitting.)
