Why choose Basair?

Find out why over 4,500 customers have chosen Basair over the past 17 years.

1. We operate the third largest aircraft fleet in Australia, behind only Qantas and Virgin Blue.

With over 50 aircraft available from our Bankstown and Cessnock campuses, we are the largest flying school in Australia.

We have sufficient aircraft and instructors to ensure that all of our students can fly the required number of hours in the required timeframe.

2. Proven track record in quality pilot training since 1991.

Basair's courses are designed in-house by aviation professionals with many years of experience training Commercial Pilots.

We have graduated many successful alumni.  View where our previous students are now working on our Alumni News page.

The courses are also designed to the latest competency based standards. Furthermore, our courses are fully approved by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS, registration number 01552D), as well as being accredited by the Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB), ensuring high standards of course delivery.

3. Forty-four world-class instructors with 45,000 hours of flying experience combined.

The quality of the teacher is the single most important driver of a student's success.  Our instructors are all trained professionals, and are continually being evaluated and trained to maintain the highest standards. Furthermore, the majority of our instructors have been trained by Basair - so the standardisation of our training techniques is unequalled.

All instructors have, or are working towards, a formal teaching qualification such as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.  Therefore, our instructors have qualifications from CASA for flight instruction as well as a more general academic qualification as a teacher.

4. Students progress swiftly, having the opportunity to finish their course within the timeframe.

At Basair we know that it is important to keep a student motivated by giving them enough opportunity to fly.  We provide enough flights for students to achieve their targets, for example 100 hours dual within a year.

See how our classes are progressing in the Course Update pages.

5. Pre-paid fees are insured.

Pre-paid fees from Australian full time students are insured with the Australian Council of Private Education and Training (ACPET.)  Furthermore, overseas full time students that pre-pay have their fees protected by the government administrated ESOS fund.  Therefore, all full time students that pay in advance have guarantees that their fees will be protected until their training is delivered.
